I'm Amy. I'm home educating our 2 cubs, overseeing the Kids Ministry at our Church Plant in NYC and trying to remember what day of the week it is.
I really believe:
making disciples starts at home.

Musical Ears

Musical Ears

A very quick and easy activity.

Cut up a piece of A4 into 4 and write 4 different words / emotions on each piece.

Use different colours to help the kids distinguish the themes.

Draw a picture that connects with the word/theme.

Choose 4 different music tracks - I chose 4 different worship songs form different genres, but you could use any music.

Dance and Reflect

Play a snippet for the young ones whose attention span is limited, or the whole track for older ones.

Dance / move / sing along. Model it to your cubs to get them feeling free to do their thing!

After each track, stop and reflect:

Place your papers out, read them again to help guide them.

"Which of these does the song talk about or make you feel?"

You'll be surprised by their insight!

We did this activity while listening to different worship songs, dancing around the living room.

Teach your kids about their emotions.

Teach them what music is feeding them.

Teach them how to reflect on what they are hearing and feeling.

Music is powerful, just like our words. I want to feed my cubs' ears and hearts with music that will bring life, joy and peace.
