Hands Up for International Women's Day
Hands Up For International Women's Day.
Hands up if you’re still here?
I was at the gym this morning and the treadmill was faulty. It kept saying “No user recognised. Continue with workout?” I had to keep clicking yes. Yes I’m here. Every 3 minutes. Yes I’m still here. I ran for 20 minutes and if I wasn’t paying attention to the screen I missed the warning and the treadmill just stopped.
As I restarted and kept clicking "YES", I thought of all the women.
All the women who are having to push through the constant questioning, are you still here?
All the women who have to push through being invisible, unrecognised, are you still here?
All the women who are unheard, who's voices don't carry weight on the treadmill, are you still here?
Yes. I’m here.
Yes, I’M STILL HERE.
Today is your day. International Women’s Day.
It is for the women who keep running.
Who keep restarting.
Who whisper through tears.
Who shout loud to the crowds.
This day is for the women who are still little girls, yet already on the treadmill.
May you keep running.
Keep speaking. We need to hear your voice say, “Yes, I’m still here.”
The lion is fierce, powerful and authoritative. The feather is gentle, sensitive, and soars from a higher perspective. My Jesus was both. Power and gentleness. The lion and the lamb, the Prince of Peace 🕊 and the King of Kings.
May we women be more free today to embrace our Christ-like lion within and roar out:
I AM STILL HERE.
May we women soar, embracing the sensitivity of Christ within us, not afraid of our gentleness as we cry:
YES IM STILL HERE.
This is for you. Hands up. You are still here.
You are not invisible to Jesus. You are seen, heard, loved, important, powerful.
Keep speaking, keep running, and ladies, even if you're tired of clicking YES, do it for the daughters.
