Hi.

I'm Amy. I'm Church Planting with my husband and home educating our 2 cubs. I offer creative ideas, activities and resources to Christian families, to help their little ones know God for themselves. I blog about what I'm learning along the way.

Holy Week Devotion: Sarah's Story

Holy Week Devotion: Sarah's Story

Holy Week Devotion: Palm Sunday

Based on Matthew 21:1-11

Jesus arrived in Jerusalem and people welcomed him with praise. The king had arrived, with peace and riding on a donkey, just as he promised he would hundreds of years before (Zechariah 9:9). Kids: How do you know when a King enters the room?

Question: How do you know when Jesus is with you?

Sarah's story

"It makes me think if he ever leaves. Do you ever wonder if God's still there? Maybe Noah felt that way between God's warning about the coming flood and when he finally entered the ark--possibly as long as 100 years! But God had promised that He would send a flood, and He did. Maybe Abraham felt that way, too. Although God said He'd make Abraham's family great, Isaac wasn't born for another 25 years. But God promised Abraham a family, and He kept His word. And maybe the Israelites felt that way during the 40 years that they wandered in the desert. But God had promised to give them the land of Canaan, and ultimately He did. In my own life, too, I wondered if God was still with me because I couldn't seem to overcome a frightening anger problem--even though I'd prayed so much about it. But God promised to complete the good work He began in me, and He has. I no longer struggle with anger like I used to! Even though Noah, Abraham, and the Israelites may have wondered if God was still with them (like I did), in the end God kept every one of His promises. When God makes a promise, you can be 100% sure that He will keep it. And guess what? He's made promises to you, too. He said, "I am with you always" (Matthew 28:20 NKJV) and "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5 NKJV). When you start to wonder if God is with you, remember His promises. If He said it, He'll do it. You can count on that. So rest in the knowledge of God's promise--He is ALWAYS with you."
