Maybe God Is Like That Too by Jennifer Grant - picture book on Fruit of the Spirit
Looking for a book on the Fruit of the Spirit?
A children’s book on the Fruit of the Spirit.
Here it is! This sweet book by @jennifercgrant packs a fruit punch when it comes to encouraging your kiddos to see God at work in the world around them. I’d recommend it for ages 4-8 years old.
We are constantly talking about needing more of God’s fruit in our DAILY lives. So this book was such a gentle, beautiful way to reinforce what we’ve been learning lately.
When a little boy wants to seek and find God in his neighborhood, his grandma opens his eyes to see where God’s Spirit is working in the lives of those around him.
Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 29:12-14
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23
Start the conversation with your children what does... peace... look like to you?
Where can you see God’s Spirit in your neighbourhood, in the city you live in? If you seek him, you will find him.
That’s what love looks like to me. Maybe God is like that too.
That’s what joy looks like to me. Maybe God is like that too.
That’s what kindness looks like to me. Maybe God is like that too.
Our two (aged 5&7) loved this book 💓 It provoked great discussions and observations of the world around us. Encouraging them to be self-reflective on their own hearts, thoughts and actions in how they treat each other.
This book teaches us very subtly to become more like Jesus in our attitudes.
“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus..” Philippians 2:3-5
I bought this book to see if it would be a good fit for our Kids Church curriculum as we are focusing on the fruit of the spirit, but it’s too sweet to part with! I’ll have to buy another copy for Church!
What sweet books are you reading with your kiddos at the moment?
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
